In the current world you must be able to present yourself favourably to get ahead. You have to ‘sell’ yourself, and what better way to start than a professionally written and printed C.V. - eliminating irrelevant detail and emphasising strengths and achievements.
The primary purpose of your CV is to get you noticed, and onto the short list for interview, and as such must stand out from the hundreds of others that may be received by a company. A well written and visually appealing CV creates a positive impression in a manager’s mind!
We do not stereotype CV’s or their format. You are individual to us and will be treated as an individual - we want to help you get that job! Despite much advice that a CV should not be longer than one or two pages, our experience of recruiting staff at all levels does not support that except for the most basic position. It is pointless reducing text sizes etc. to squeeze it to one page! The aim is to get the employer’s attention by the content so that they will want to delve further into your CV!
Your CV is not created by junior or word processing staff - It is professionally designed and written for you by the owner, Graham Pritchard, utilising over 35 years business experience dealing with major UK companies, and running my own business divisions, including staff recruitment at all levels.
What problems do you face writing your CV?
Most people feel unsure how to present their career to date, often understating their achievements, and overlooking some valuable skills they might not realise they have. They are unsure of where to pitch their CV, what to include and what to leave out. Time is often an issue, and consequently a standard CV is submitted that is not targeted at the qualities the employer is looking for. Quality of presentation is also extremely important, from the layout used, the font chosen, right down to the type of paper used!
People attempting to produce their own CV are usually disappointed with the results they achieve - they are not used to selling themselves on paper, and often overlook points which commend them to a potential employer.
A professionally written CV stands out a mile and gives you that immediate advantage and should be considered as a life investment!
What types of CV Service is right for you?
We offer three types of CV, each of which will feature a telephone consultation - which we consider vital - to fully identify your skills, experience and achievements and to address any issues there may be such as unemployment, changing jobs frequently etc. This will also enable us to ensure that you have not omitted any important information that may be relevant to your application and in addition it will help us to write that covering letter for a job application should that be required.
Starter CV (guide salary up to £20,000) Intended for entry-level job seekers with up to five years employment. As work experience will probably be limited the emphasis will be on qualifications, skills and personal qualities, highlighting what you have to offer and why you should be invited to that all-important interview! Cost: £75
Professional CV (guide salary up to £50,000) Aimed at those with established careers but perhaps not in management positions. It will focus on responsibilities and achievements as well as personal traits, highlighting your strengths and suitability. Cost: £150
Executive CV (guide salary over £50,000) This will be the choice for those in a managerial position right up to Board level positions, and will demonstrate career achievements, key skills targeted on those required, wider contributions to employers, initiative and leadership. It will focus on your experience and suitability for the position being applied for.
Whilst a telephone consultation may be sufficient it is suggested that for higher positions (e.g. £75,000+) a personal consultation may prove beneficial, the additional cost of which can be discussed and is influenced by geographic location. Cost: £225
Professional Covering letter: With employers receiving so many CV’s a really well written, concise covering letter will really make your application stand out. Liberty can prepare a compelling letter, either in response to a specific job requirement or a speculative letter. Cost: £40
Method of dispatch: Your CV will be carefully prepared in a Portable Data Format (PDF) to ensure consistency of readability, and will be sent to you in the following ways:
- email
- Hard Copy (recommended) to include ten copies of your CV. This is to ensure the print and paper quality of the application being submitted. Sent First Class with stiffened envelope.
